Simie B. Platt, M.D.

Dr. Platt has been practicing cardiac electrophysiology in South Florida since 1996. He completed medical internship at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (NY) and his medical residency and cardiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine (NY). Dr. Platt then completed his electrophysiology training at Case Western Reserve University (Cleveland, OH) before moving to Florida.

Dr. Platt has been an innovator in the field of electrophysiology since his arrival. He performed the first catheter ablation in Palm Beach County in November 1996 and was among the first physicians in the area to perform implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD) and Bi-Ventricular ICD implantations. Dr. Platt has held several leadership positions at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center including Director of the Electrophysiology Laboratory, Chairman of the Department of Cardiology, Chairman of the Credentials Committee, and Chief of Staff. He served Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center Board Of Directors from 2011 to 2016.

Jupiter Medical Center has expanded its cardiac services which now include cardiac surgery and full availability of electrophysiological procedures including the use of a jet ventilator during atrial fibrillation ablations. Paralleled to the expansion of the services, Dr. Platt served as the Chief Of Staff at Jupiter Medical Center as well as on the Board of Jupiter Medical Center in 2019 and 2020.

Dr. Platt has specific interests in cardiac pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators, and catheter ablation. He has been an investigator on clinical research trials on cardiac resynchronization and defibrillator therapy.
